Opening Day!!!

Yes, today is opening day for most teams in Major League Baseball!

My Braves are looking to regain their crown as National League East champions. 2006 was the first time since 1990 the Braves didn’t own a division title. Braves general manager John Schuerholz made a couple moves to pick up pitchers Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano, in hope that they’ll solidify the bullpen. The Braves bullpen blew 29 saves, the second most in the majors behind Kansas City. Hopefully, with a revamped bullpen, the Braves can return to old habits.

But, enough about my Braves.

For baseball fans in general, especially those who live outside of their favorite team’s viewing area, today brings a special bonus as MLB.com has released the new version of MLB.TV Mosaic. Mosaic is an application that allows you to view up to six out-of-market games live simultaneously, as part of MLB.com’s MLB.TV Premium package. Live video streaming of up to 1.5MB brings you near-TV quality, you can customize the layout of the video grid as you like, and even drag and drop games into the interface. Just click on the game of your choice and you’ll receive that game’s audio and you can even go full screen with your selected game. For $20 a month, it’s not a bad deal.

So, now you know I’ll be close to my computer from now until late September.

Go Braves!
